Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond is supporting the Trump Administration’s effort to roll back federal vehicle emissions regulations.
Drummond filed a motion with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit seeking to intervene in support of the Environmental Protection Agency’s decision to rescind the 2009 Greenhouse Gas Endangerment Finding. The finding was used by the Obama Administration to justify vehicle emissions regulations under the Clean Air Act.
“Thankfully, the Trump Administration is correcting the outrageous overreach that was the hallmark of the Obama-Biden Administration,” Drummond said.
Drummond joined a coalition of 24 attorneys general backing the EPA’s action after several groups challenged the rule in federal court.
Drummond said the previous policy threatened Oklahoma’s oil and gas industry and could have broader impacts on the economy, electric grid reliability and national security.
