An upcoming legislative interim study will examine testing standards, product safety and consumer protections within Oklahoma’s medical marijuana program.
Oklahoma Representative Jacob Rosecrants will lead the study, which will review the state’s current regulatory framework for medical marijuana testing and transparency. Lawmakers will also examine compliance requirements, product recalls and regulatory oversight to identify potential areas for improvement.
“Medical marijuana patients in Oklahoma deserve to know that the products they rely on are safe, accurately tested, and held to consistent standards,” Rosecrants said. “This interim study is an opportunity to bring regulators, patients, laboratories, and industry stakeholders to the same table, examine what’s working and what isn’t, and identify ways to strengthen safety, transparency, accountability, and public confidence in Oklahoma’s medical marijuana program.”
The study is intended to bring together regulators, patients, testing laboratories and industry representatives to discuss potential policy changes aimed at improving transparency and consumer protections.
The interim study is scheduled for October 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Oklahoma Capitol.
