South Oklahoma City Attorney Michael Brooks-Jiménez announced today that he will seek the Democratic nomination in Senate District 44.
“I look forward to working on improving education, creating jobs, and making sure our tax dollars are being spent wisely,” Brooks-Jiménez said. “Our state deserves better, and I will work hard to ensure all Oklahomans have an opportunity to succeed.”
Brooks-Jiménez has been married to his college sweetheart, Jessica Martinez-Brooks, for over 14 years. They have two children: Joaquin, seven, and Lucy, two.
He attends St. James Catholic Church. He graduated from Mount St. Mary High School and earned his law degree from the University of Oklahoma.
“I was raised in a middle class family here in south Oklahoma City where I learned the value and importance of hard work,” Brooks-Jiménez continued. “Far too often, hardworking Oklahomans are overlooked. I will not forget where I come from and who I represent.”
Senate District 44 encompasses southwest Oklahoma City.
