Inman Wants AICCM Vote

The Associated Press

The Oklahoma House’s top Democrat says the chamber should vote on whether to provide funding to complete the American Indian Cultural Center & Museum in Oklahoma City.

House Democratic Leader Scott Inman of Oklahoma City urged the House to take action on Thursday, a day after the House Appropriations and Budget Committee approved a plan to take $40 million from the Unclaimed Property Fund to complete the unfinished structure.

The measure has already been approved by the Senate, but Republican House Speaker Jeff Hickman of Fairview has said he wants 51 of the 72 House Republicans to support the plan before it could go for a vote in the House.

Inman says that is an unreasonable goal. The House’s 29 Democrats support the bill, but many House conservatives are opposed.

Inman may want it: BUT most of Oklahoma citizens DON’T want it. More wasteful spending.

This is not tax dollars you want to spend. You have no right to even think a about downing this money. Get over it and be an adult and admit that this project is a total waste. Next you will want to spend $40 million to build an amusement park on the properties the state bought in Kingfisher. Put the big slide on the mayor’s property the state bought. You elected officials are great stewards of our money.
