Sources: Holder Invitation Came From U. S. Attorney Sandy Coats

Attorney General Eric Holder’s trip to Oklahoma City this week apparently is the result of an invitation from U. S. Attorney Sandy Coats, sources confirm today.

Holder is scheduled to address Oklahoma City’s newest class of police officers. His trip has spawned protests and plans for a demonstration.

Coats, we’re told, coordinated the invitation with Oklahoma City Police Chief Bill Citty.

Maggie has more details: http://www.maggiesnotebook.com/2014/04/eric-holder-speaking-at-oklahoma-city-police-academy-graduation-protest-rally-details/

Four years ago, Holder named Coats to a prestigious post, outlined in this report: Attorney General Eric Holder today appointed three U.S. Attorneys to his Attorney General’s Advisory Committee (AGAC). The group is an influential policy-making and advisory body that serves as the voice of U.S. Attorneys throughout the country. The new members of the advisory panel are Sanford Coats, of the Western District of Oklahoma; Steven M. Dettelbach, of the Northern District of Ohio; and Jim Letten, of the Eastern District of Louisiana.

The source confirms that high-level City officials, including Mayor Mick Cornett and City Manager Jim Couch, only learned of the invitation in recent days when it became public on blogs like The McCarville Report.
Coats, appointed to his post by President Obama, could not be reached for comment.

I believe that is “Shady Coates” to the rest of us.

ERIC HOLDER IS NOT WELCOME IN OKLAHOMA. Call the Oklahoma City Police Department (297-1000) and Mick Cornett (297-2424). Let them know that you are not happy. Holder is a criminal, is in contempt of Congress and is involved in scandals in D.C. (Fast and Furious, IRS, etc). Why would we want him addressing the graduates from the Police Academy?

I agree with Ruth Rose. Eric Holder is in contempt of Congress, his lawlessness is not a good example for our graduating cadets. I feel the state of Oklahoma is being invaded by Eric holder.

I agree with the previous commentors. As the primary law enforcement officer for Oklahoma County, independent of federal jurisdiction, sheriff John Whetsel should have deputies waiting at Will Rogers Airport or Tinker (wherever he lands), and arrest him as soon as he sets foot on Oklahoma County soil on charges of Contempt of Congress, or at the very least, State charges of Obstruction of Justice for failure to faithfully and fully enforcing ALL the laws of the United States including the Defense of Marriage Act and for failing to fulfill his oath of office and/or conduct unbecoming a U.S. Attorney. In any case, he should be told to turn around and leave and he should NOT be allowed to address the graduating class of the OCPD Academy. And they should be told why. The man is NOT a good example for a law enforcement officer. He IS a good example of a criminal and a sleazy crook who likes to mince words with semantics.

The Oklahoma City Council, the Mayor, and the City Manager should take notice of Citizen opinion in this matter and direct a resolution to Chief Citty ordering him to cancel Eric Holder’s appearance and speech at the OCPD graduation Ceremony. And maybe for the future, Chief Citty should have to have his choice of speakers approved by the Council in advance….

Is Holder in town today (Friday)? If yes, with whom is he meeting? Coats? Heard that at yesterday’s rally and want to know if it is true.
