Retired Air Force General Rita Aragon, now Secretary of Military & Veterans’ Affairs, has endorsed retired Army Lt. Colonel Steve Russell in the 5th District Republican runoff. Russell’s opponent is Corporation Commissioner Patrice Douglas.
“To have the support of Major General Aragon, a woman who blazed a trail of leadership in the military, is truly an honor,” says Russell.
Russell, former state senator, is now in private business and conducts tours to promote the book he wrote about the search for, and capture of, Saddam Hussein. He also is in demand as a speaker at military and patriotic events.
