Moore Apologizes For Use Of State Email Account

Rep. Lewis Moore today apologized, notified the Ethics Commission and issued the following statement regarding the accidental use of his House email account to send out a campaign letter:

“It has come to my attention that I inadvertently used the House account to issue a campaign letter. I apologize for the mistake. It was unintentional and happened as I was working at home and my computer defaulted to my House account when I had meant to send out the letter on a different email account. I will work with IT and do everything I can to be more careful in the future.”

He told The McCarville Report: “If I did send out a fundraising notice it was inadvertent and a mistake.  I have been working on several work projects and the Town Hall meeting last night from my home and on my personal laptop when it occurred.  I am upset and embarrassed that it happened. I’ve apologized to my colleagues, the Speaker and have asked the House IT department to see how this could be avoided in the future. I’ve also notified the Ethics Commission and explained the situation to them as well.”
