OIPA Names Roller To Legislative Post

rollerJames Roller has been named the vice president of legislative affairs for the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association.

In the position, Roller will lead the association’s legislative outreach efforts on behalf of Oklahoma’s independent oil and natural gas producers.

“It’s a tremendous honor to represent OIPA’s 2,800 members statewide,” Roller said. “Oklahoma is blessed to have the economic engine of oil and gas as a background for economic growth and stability. I look forward to telling that story and representing our members.”

A native of Clinton and an Oklahoma State University graduate, Roller most recently served as a national technical sales representative for Varel International Energy Services. Prior, he was the director of corporate development and government relations for Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Energy, handling the company’s day-to-day government relations efforts in Oklahoma and Kansas.

“We are extremely excited to have James Roller join our OIPA team,” said OIPA Chairman Ronnie Irani, president & CEO of RKI Exploration and Production in Oklahoma City. “James has a proven history promoting Oklahoma’s oil and natural gas industry. His knowledge of the industry and his wealth of experience will help the OIPA better serve Oklahoma’s independent producers and the companies that support them.”

Founded in 1955, the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association was created to give the state’s independent oil and natural gas producers a unified voice. Today, the OIPA is made up of more than 2,800 members in the crude oil and natural gas exploration and production industry and affiliated businesses. It is the state’s largest oil and gas advocacy group and one of the largest statewide petroleum groups in the nation.
