OIPA Defends Support Of Brecheen Opponent

Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association President Mike Terry today released the following statement regarding the association’s support of Senate District 6 candidate Joe Hill, a .Democrat who opposes incumbent Republican Senator Josh Brecheen.

“The Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association has long supported political candidates, both Republican and Democrat, who support Oklahoma’s oil and natural gas industry.

“The state’s economy is reliant on the oil and natural gas industry, which accounts for one out of every five jobs and makes up one-third of the gross state product.

“A strong oil and natural gas industry equals a strong Oklahoma economy, and elected officials who promote legislation that encourages continued investment in the state’s most vibrant industry helps ensure a brighter future for all Oklahomans. We believe Mr. Hill understands these economic concepts and will support industry growth for the good of our state.”

Founded in 1955, the OIPA is the state’s largest oil and gas advocacy group, representing more than 2,800 members in the crude oil and natural gas exploration/production industry or affiliated businesses.

In other words Joe Hill will conform to the oil and natural gas special interest and will do what we want him to. Josh Brecheen needs to get out of our way so we can keep controlling “our” system.

What???? There’s a problem with the fox guarding the hen-house?

Cockfighters removed Rep Buck and Sen Gumm and elected Tom Hardin and Josh Brecheen a few years ago.

The cockfighters held a meeting and invited all candidates from that area Buck and Gumm turned us down Hardin showed up, Brecheen did not show but had a pretty viable excuse.

So we elected Hardin and Brecheen.

Hopefully the political groups across Oklahoma will stop being foolish and come join the cockfighters and stop allowing the voters to be divided by the UN Agenda 21 advocates.

This is not about cock fighting, BL!

This is about the State Chamber and their groupies trying to get rid of a good State Senator who actually responded to the VOTERS not the Chamber!!! What a novel concept! To actually listen to your constituents and not the money whores.

As for this statement from the OIPA President, it really doesn’t say why they are supporting that other guy, but speaks volumes in what they didn’t say. It’s about a group of lobbyists who didn’t get their way on Common Core. It’s not about Oil or Gas… but about the future of our children and grandchildren. Common core is a federalized dumbed down curriculum that would have destroyed the rights of parents and communities to have a solid voice in their education!

Thank you Josh Breechen, Gus Blackwell, and so many other elected officials in the Legislature who listened to the voters and did the right thing! Let’s re-elect these statesmen!
