Fallin Goes National With GOP Address

Governor Fallin of Oklahoma will deliver the Weekly Republican Address on Saturday, February 14, 2015.  Gov. Fallin will discuss the Keystone XL pipeline, and its potential to help create good-paying jobs and bolster our nation’s energy security.

“In my state of Oklahoma, the southern leg of the Keystone Pipeline has already been built and it’s been a great help to our economy,” Governor Fallin said. “It’s generating more than $15 million in tax revenue a year that we can use to support local schools and other priorities.  During its construction, the project was helping to employ 4,000 people.  Keystone has been a safe, environmentally sound way to support our energy industry and ensure Oklahoma continues to grow as a center of regional and national energy production and commerce.  For Oklahomans, it’s almost mind-boggling that the rest of this pipeline hasn’t been approved.”

Gov. Fallin is one of 24 governors who signed a letter to President Obama this week requesting that he reconsider his decision to veto the Keystone XL pipeline.  That legislation, S. 1, has been approved by the House and Senate, and was signed by Speaker Boehner earlier today.
