My long time friend, mentor, and father figure, Rep. David Dank passed away yesterday. He and Odilia were my biggest champions and fans as you can see on their faces in this photo with me at my reelection victory party. I would have never become the man I am today without them. I am forever grateful for all the time and love they invested in me. We had dinner together nearly every Sunday night for the past 16 years. Tomorrow night will seem so strange without David, but I’m comforted to know he has been reunited with his soulmate, Odilia. I now have the two best guardian angels anyone could ever ask for.
