Doak Urges ID Theft Awareness

DoakOklahomans are urged to protect themselves from identity theft by shredding important documents at a free event. The Tax Day shredding event will be held April 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at KJRH-TV, located at 3701 S. Peoria in Tulsa. The Oklahoma Insurance Department is co-hosting the event with AARP and KJRH-TV.

“Identity theft is a growing problem,” said Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak. “Here at the Oklahoma Insurance Department, we’ve seen seniors fall victim to the crime after their Medicare number was stolen. That’s why it is so important to protect your personal information and shred any document that might put your financial well-being in jeopardy.”
