District 82 Rep. Kevin Calvey recently took to the floor of the House and made a statement that has raised eyebrows. Speaking about a Senate initiative, Senate Bill 548, which would provide 6 percent raises, paid from court fees, for Supreme Court justices and other appellate court judges and employees, he stated that. if he were not a Christian, he would “walk across the street, douse myself with gasoline, and set myself on fire.”
