From Reid Mullins’ wife, Michelle, via Facebook: “On Thursday, August 13th, at 11:02 pm, my sweet husband and best friend, Reid Mullins, went to be with the Lord. As many of you know, he has lived with debilitating pain for many years. At this very moment, he is completely free of all pain as he lays in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Funeral details coming.”

Reid was 52 and had been in ill health. He hosted KTOK’s morning show for 10 years.

I first met Reid when we were working at KOMA/KRXO. I was Music Director for KOMA, and he was a jock at KRXO. Reid was a full-time student at OU his senior year, and working the overnight shift on KRXO. We became friends then, got our ham radio licenses at about the same time, and continued that friendship for about 30 years. He had me on his morning show on KTOK many times, and later on the Eagle 1640. I will miss him, but I know he is in a better place now. My thoughts and prayers go up for Michelle.

I got to work with Reid and for Reid. I’m sad at the news and pray for his family and all his many friends who loved him and are saddened and stunned at this terrible news. God Speed Reid!

I’ve know Reid since High School. He was just as great then as he has always been. So sorry for the loss to his family, friends, and the world.

A true Oklahoman who loved his country, his family, and his God. I will always treasure our time together at KTOK. See ya later, Reid.

Such an ever positive, energetic, and committed individual that truly loved his country and this grand state. We’ll miss him and send our prayers to his family. So long Reido!

Reid was a great guy, he actually came out to my shop while working in Christian Radio to see if he could do anything to promote our business. A lot laughs during that meeting! So Sorry for your loss Michelle but as you said he is in a far better place than we are and I am sure pulling on the Lord’s ear!

Reid was one of my favorites. You always knew where he stood on issues, especially troop support. He couldn’t do enough to help The Hugs Project take care of our deployed troops, veterans and active duty. He loved them with a passion.

I will miss him and tonight it feels like I have a hole in my heart.

Reid, I promise you that I will never forget our mission to help those who have given so much. I will honor you by continuing to honor them.

In the years I knew Reid, we spoke in a sort of “secret code,” since we had so many common interests: Radio … both amateur and commercial, Flying … both actual and historical … and Spiritual. He loved the Lord and Bible prophecy, as do I, and I’m confident that he’s in heaven now. Have a great day in the Lord, Reid! We’ll see you soon!

I’m tremendously saddened to hear of Reid’s passing. Working with him for seven years in the early mornings at KTOK, I knew Reid to be a talented, kind and generous soul with a wonderfully oddball sense of humor , keeping things loose and happy. Oklahoma City was genuinely blessed having the opportunity to wake up every day with Reid as a companion.

I’ve known Reid for a number of years. Always an excellent person! He will be missed by everyone in the radio community who knew him and worked with him!
