If Randy Brogdon is out as Republican State Chairman, there are at least two persons deeply involved in the party who are seen as likely candidates to replace him.
Party Vice Chair Estela Hernandez
Immediate past president of the Oklahoma Federation of Republican Women Pam Pollard
Hernandez got the most votes in her bid for the vice chair’s post in voting last April, far surpassing Brogdon’s total in his relatively tight race with Pollard.
Hernandez and Pollard are frequent speakers at GOP events across the state.
Pollard is a veteran GOP worker and official who has just been nominated for a national GOP post as treasurer of the National Federation of Republican Women.
Brogdon sent an email earlier today calling a party meeting to elect a new chairman. Hernandez told The Associated Press that Brogdon called her Wednesday to confirm he is stepping down.
