Tulsa businessman Bob Jack today announced he will seek the Republican nomination in Senate District 25.
He served as the senior vice president of Manhattan Construction’s Tulsa division since 2011 and has been with the company for more than 10 years. Jack will remain in an advisory role with Manhattan as of Sept. 30. Prior to Manhattan, he managed Oil Capital Electric in various roles for 23 years and later served as the company President until 2003.
“I’ve managed hundreds of people throughout my career and headed multi-million dollar organizations. Unlike career politicians, I know how to negotiate a deal, build consensus, manage a budget and lead in the real world,” said Jack.
“I know how to establish relationships and work with those who may not share my interests, but I will stand firm on my principles and never compromise conservative values.”
Jack, 66, who grew up in Illinois as the son of a minister, said he and his family have been blessed to live in Oklahoma for the past 38 years.
“We moved to Oklahoma in 1978, and this state has provided a wonderful life for me, my wife and children. I’ve never aspired to politics, but I feel a burden to give back to this community that has done so much for me,” Jack said.
Jack and his wife, Alexis, have been married for 41 years and have two adult children, both graduates of Union Public Schools. Jack’s daughter is a graduate of The University of Oklahoma and his son is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. The Jacks are members of Fellowship Bible Church.
Jack is involved in many community organizations. He serves on the board of John 3:16 Mission and the Tulsa Regional Chamber, vice president of Up With Trees, a city beautification group and sits on the executive board of the State Chamber of Commerce.
He is a member of Tulsa’s Downtown Rotary Club, the Association of Builders and Contractors and the Association of General Contractors.
