Russell Votes Against Stop Gap Budget Measure, Calls on Congress to Burn Midnight Oil

Congressman Steve Russell joined the minority of House members who voted against a Continuing Resolution to keep the federal government running through December 9. The CR passed 342-85.

Russell said it amounts to Congress not taking its job seriously and kicking the can down the road.

“I voted against the CR because I believe Congress should do its job every year we come to DC. We should burn the midnight oil rather than worry about all the national election posturing. A CR hurts our military, creates gridlock, and does nothing to solve the problems people sent us here to do,” said Russell.
