Senator James Lankford took to the Senate floor to encourage the lawmakers to overturn an Obama Administration Department of Education accountability and state plans regulation. Lankford would like to see H.J. Resolution 57 to be passed so that the rules can be pulled back. He contends the regulations put more federal mandates and responsibilities on teachers and takes away education management from states.
The Senate is expected to vote on the measure Thursday. The House has already passed it.
