The Tulsa World has obtained Governor Fallin’s personal emails through an Open Records Act request and has found she had staff check on the Robert Bates case in Tulsa County before he was sentenced. Bates is the reserve deputy who killed a man being restrained by firing his gun instead of his Taser. The Tulsa World‘s Corey Jones writes the Bates’ family contacted Fallin through her sister-in-law.
