A vote is expected on House Bill 2281 in committee Friday. The Oklahoman’s Randy Ellis writes the bill would make the theft of items valued at less than $1,000 a misdemeanor instead of a felony. It is an effort to reduce Oklahoma’s prison population, but has raised concerned among some prosecutors.
