Perryman to Welcome Exchange Students to Capitol on Friday

House Minority Floor Leader David Perryman is set to welcome more than 20 exchange students, their host families, local coordinators and a liaison from the U.S. State Department to the Oklahoma Capitol on Friday at 10:30 a.m.

The students, who are members of the Council for International Educational Exchange, will tour the capitol and have an opportunity to ask some lawmakers questions about Oklahoma’s state government.

“Programs like these are not just beneficial to the students participating but to society as a whole,” Perryman said. “When our young people get to experience new cultures and get exposure to people with different world views, it’s a win for everyone. I look forward to meeting these students and hosting them at the Capitol.”

Joining the students will be Aimee Coburn. She is an Outreach Coordinator for the U.S. State Department’s High School Placement Team.
