Jones Proposes Revenue Plan, Lawmakers Consider Cuts

In the wake of the Step Up Oklahoma plan failure, State Auditor and Inspector Gary Jones has proposed a new revenue plan that has the support of the House Democrats. The Oklahoman’s Randy Ellis writes it would provide a $5,000 raise for public school teachers. In the meantime, lawmakers are considering cuts to help plug budget holes, and Governor Fallin has amended her call for the Second Special Session to give legislators more wiggle room to work.
