Lamb Calls for Education Funding Reform in Midst of Teacher Walkout

Lt. Governor Todd Lamb was interviewed by Fox News @ Night with Shannon Bream earlier this week and weighed in on the Oklahoma Teacher Walkout. Lamb called for education reform as well as a teacher pay raise. He also said tax increases were not necessary to properly fund education.

Wow. What an air headed interview on Fox with some air headed blonde.

It only confirmed that Lt Gov Lamb apparently knew nothing about common education when he was elected to the state senate in 2004 and knows even less now. HB 1017, the revenue and reform education legislation passed in 1990, of which I was a co-author, did exactly what was promised. A five year, fully funded teacher pay increase of $7500 allocated at $1500 per year per teacher, revenue to lower class sizes, especially in the early grades K-4, funding for school consolidation ($15 million dollars), technology, library, music and art enhancements and other important investments to produce graduates ready for greater challenges and responsibilities.

But then, when Lamb and his Republican colleagues took charge in 2010 they purposely and with vengeance began to undo the progress made by reducing funding for our public schools by the greatest percent in the nation. There is no doubt that fact is true except among those who simply cannot add and subtract.

I’m sorry to see that Todd has become nothing more than an empty suit, terrified to utter the word tax for any purpose at all but, since I am a partisan democrat, I should be pleased he has joined in with other know nothings representing the Republican Party in their pursuit of the nomination to be our next Governor.

Sorry but the era of the free lunch, the something for nothing crowd running our state is over and everybody knows it except Lamb, Richardson, Stitt and even Cornett. The Auditor and Inspector, Gary Jones, knows more about government and its needs as well as responsibilities than the other four men combined. And that is exactly why he won’t get the nomination of his party just as the other smart elected Republican, Treasurer Ken Miller wouldn’t either if he had entered the race.

So on behalf of a resurgent and creditable Democratic Party thank you, minions of Tom Coburn and Grover Norquist, for handing us the governor’s chair again. We couldn’t have done it without you, your allegiance to only the super rich and your fealty to nearly destroying everything important and valuable to real Oklahomans during your decade in power.

    May it be your last.

    Appreciatively,

    Cal Hobson

Wow, bitter much (former) Senator Hobson that FOX didn’t call you for an interview?

Nope David I don’t talk to idiots and thus shouldn’t have responded to your email. Vote for Lamb. Further destroy our children’s futures in Oklahoma.
