Oklahoma Teacher Walkout Enters Fifth Day

The Oklahoma Teacher Walkout enters its fifth day.

On Thursday, Senate Majority Floor Leader Greg Treat warned not to expect massive changes to the education spending bill.

Teachers taking part at the Capitol rallies are saying they are determined to keep going until the Legislature fully funds education.

State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister is researching possible scenarios if the walkout begins to conflict with state testing which is scheduled to begin soon.

The OSBI is now investigating possible threats made toward lawmakers, but have released no details other than three cases are now open with a likely fourth to begin soon.

Are you afraid to call it what it is “Strike” and unlawful at that.

  2. mikes1voice, 06 April, 2018

By definition a strike is not approved by the districts. Many of the school boards have approved the teachers walking out. Therefore, the definition of walkout over strike is the proper term. I know that is semantics to some. Fear has nothing to do with it.

Just stop the bs semantics, and just call it a ‘work-stoppage’.
Hopefully, any verbiage will encourage the legislature and the governess to prove that they really give a damn about the current pathetic status of our public education system.
