OEA Demands Capital Gains Exemption Repeal, Veto of Hotel Tax Repeal to End Walkout

Soon after the Oklahoma Senate passed the “ball and dice”, “Amazon tax” and the hotel/motel tax repeal measures on Friday, Oklahoma Education Association Alicia Priest took to Facebook to outline what it would take to end the teacher walkout. She called the Senate’s actions a step in the right direction. To end the walkout, OEA’s demands  passing the capital gains tax exemption repeal bill in the House and for Governor Fallin to veto the hotel tax repeal.

    Seems like the original intent has been hijacked. Beginning to sound like a mouthpiece for the Democrats. Can’t get their agenda through and need to use the walkout as surroget legistalators.

    Not only has the intent been hijacked, but it’s beginning to look like they are holding the legislature and the students for ransom. They’ve gone way past trying to redress pay grievances and are now starting to look like schoolyard bullies.
