Governor Fallin has placed State Question 798 on the November ballot asking voters if they want the governor and lt. governor to run on the same ticket. If approved by voters, it would have candidates run as a team much like presidential and vice-presidential candidates on the federal level.
As part of an attempt to reform state government, lawmakers passed Senate Joint Resolution 66 this year asking for the state question.
If voters approve, the governor and lt. governor candidate would begin running on the same ticket during the 2026 election cycle.
