Marsy’s Law Supporters Launch TV Ad Campaign

The supporters of State Question 794, also known as Marsy’s Law, has launched a series of television commercials as it begins the public awareness campaign ahead of the November General Election.

Marsy’s Law is named for Marsy Nicholas, a California college student who was murdered in 1983 by her ex-boyfriend. A few days after her death, her mother and brother walked into a grocery store where they were confronted by Marsy’s accused murderer. Marsy’s family had not been notified that he had been released on bail.

If voters approve SQ 794, crime victims would have more of a voice in the judicial process, including being notified when a suspect makes bail and notification of upcoming hearings involving their specific case.

You can view the trio of TV spots below. The series is titled, One Day.
