Cook Political Report Changes Oklahoma Governor’s Race to Toss Up Status

Earlier this year, the Cook Political Report ranked Oklahoma’s gubernatorial race as a Republican win. Recently, the independent, non-partisan newsletter changed its mind and gave the race a “toss-up” status.

Recent polling shows Republican Kevin Stitt with a narrow lead over Democrat Drew Edmondson. Libertarian Chris Powell is in the single digits in that same polling.

In its latest Governor’s Overview, Cook Political Report writes “some GOP strategists are growing concerned that Stitt hasn’t been able to close the deal.”
