Board of Corrections Names Carpenter as New Oklahoma State Penitentiary Warden

The Oklahoma State Board of Corrections took the interim from Mike Carpenter’s title on Thursday by naming him the warden of the Oklahoma State Penitentiary (OSP).

Carpenter has been with the Department of Corrections (DOC) for more than 30 years and not only served as interim OSP warden, but also as Deputy Chief of Operations. He’s held several posts during his career.

OSP is the state’s oldest prison and is home to the state’s death row. It currently houses 863 inmates.
