Cole, Mullin Support Border Wall Funding in Continuing Resolution to Avoid Government Shutdown

The U.S. House of Representatives approved an amendment trying to avoid a partial federal government shutdown by adding funding for a “border wall” along the southern U.S. border. Congressman Tom Cole and Congressman Markwayne Mullin are supporting the amendment.

“Both sides agree that the government should be kept open and operational,” said Cole. “I am pleased that the funding measure passed by the House does exactly that while also providing for some other pressing needs in country. Along with vital funding for disaster relief, the legislation also fulfills the modest request from the president to begin strengthening security at our borders. While a continuing resolution is not ideal for funding the government, the legislation importantly prevents the far worse alternative of a partial government shutdown.”

“The crisis we face at our southern border is a national security issue,” said Mullin.  “Nancy Pelosi Democrats have decided that keeping our borders open is more important than keeping the American people safe and our government open.  I support this funding bill because it fully funds President Trump’s $5 billion request for border security.  The national security of our country can’t wait any longer.

“The House has done its job to make America safer,” stated Mullin.  “Now it’s up to the Senate.”

The funding bill (H.R. 695) will keep the government running through February 8, 2019. Disaster relief was also included.

Great. Both congressmen say they have done their jobs and gone home for Christmas. The dysfunctional folks running congress and the WH think the rest of us are so stupid to just read their press releases and then send them holiday greetings.

So here’s one. Truth be told more illegals were returned to Mexico by Obama than the two previous administrations combined. A wall is a 14th century solution for a 21st century challenge. Ten times more illegal drugs are found at legal ports of entry than on all illegals entering the country. Etc, etc, etc.

Apparently our Oklahoma congressional delegation has never read any of Lincoln’s writings. He said “you can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time but not all of the people all of the time”……so quit trying and do at least some of what you are paid to do some of the time since you are paid all of the time.

    Disgustingly,

    Cal Hobson

Obama counted the number of people who were turned back at the border. “a 14th century solution” – this is a hallmark democrat talking point. Why does the wall work for Israel? Congress has sat back for years and done nothing about the illegals. Now, we have Soros funded caravans marching to our border. Any taxpayer benefits to illegal aliens must end NOW! Build the wall, deport them all. They have already ruined OKC public schools.
