Pinnell Hires Lucas Staffer for Community Engagement

Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell has hired Kirby Smith to help support his mission of economic development, small business advocacy, and promoting tourism. Smith most recently served as Congressman Frank Lucas’ field representative for agricultural issues. Pinnell is hoping to leverage her experience in western Oklahoma to increase economic and tourism opportunities.

“I’m incredibly excited that Kirby has joined our team,” said Pinnell. “I’ve known Kirby for years and have been impressed with the work she’s done in western Oklahoma for Congressman Lucas. Kirby knows the state thoroughly, and has a particular expertise in rural issues. She will be a huge asset to my office.”

Smith will serve as liaison for the Lt. Governor to Oklahoma communities. She will work with local leaders and organizations to create opportunities for economic development.

“I think it’s a privilege to serve Oklahomans,” said Smith. “I’m excited to expand that work to include all 77 counties in this new role with Lt. Governor Pinnell.”
