Taylor Announces Intentions for Newly Open OK Senate Seat

Zack Taylor, currently a Republican state representative for district 28, announced Monday he is a candidate for the Senate seat being vacated by Jason Smalley.

“It’s my honor and privilege to announce that I am a candidate for state Senate,” said Taylor. “The Oklahoma turnaround has begun, and continuing our progress requires unwavering, conservative leadership that will streamline government and demand fiscal responsibility.“

Like Taylor’s seat in the House, the Senate seat he is seeking is also designated District 28.

Raised in Seminole, Taylor is a small businessman who owns RKR Exploration, a family oil and gas operation.

Taylor and his wife, Stephanie Taylor, have been married for 14 years and have a five-year-old daughter. The Taylor family is active in church and community ministry. He is a member of the Seminole Rotary Club.

“Rural Oklahoma is my home and where I learned my values,” said Taylor. “I’m a proud conservative. I am 100% pro-life and will always defend the Second Amendment.”

Representative Kevin Wallace, who represents a portion of the district sought by Taylor, weighed in on the announcement.

“I’ve worked side-by-side with Representative Taylor,” said Wallace, “and I’m confident he’ll do a great job in the Senate for Lincoln County and all of Senate District 28.

Wallace continued, “He’s a natural leader, successful businessman and a conservative. Zack will represent the district well.”.”

In the House, Taylor is known for being an effective legislator with a common sense approach.

“My experience tells me that we need more people in government who have created jobs, met payroll and understand the importance of small businesses to our economy,” Taylor said.

“I‘d also like to say that Senator Smalley has done a commendable job for the district. He’s a good man, and I wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”
