House Passes Absentee Ballot Notarization Bill

Playing a “shell game” of sorts, the Oklahoma House on Wednesday passed a bill to require notarization of an absentee ballot. This comes after the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled earlier this week notarizing an absentee ballot wasn’t required.

Tulsa World’s Randy Krebhiel writes the language was moved from bill to bill, finally landing in Senate Bill 210. Democrats fought the measure saying it was an unnecessary barrier to voting. Republicans say it protects the integrity of an election.
