Lankford Praises Trump Brokered Peace Deal with Israel, Morocco

President Trump announced on Thursday a new peace agreement between Israel and Morocco which gained the praise of U.S. Senator James Lankford. The deal was made after Trump committed to recognizing Morocco’s sovereignty over the Western Sahara. King Mohammed VI then agreed to opening relations between his country and Israel for the first time since 2000.

Lankford praises the leaders for brokering the peace agreement.

“As we begin to celebrate the Jewish tradition of the festival of lights, President Trump has continued to lead the region to greater peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors. I commend both nations for taking this step and encourage other nations to open diplomatic ties with Israel. This is the fourth Middle East peace agreement that the President and his team have brokered this year. This is a significant achievement for our nation’s diplomacy. The United States should continue to build on the success of the Abraham Accords and work to foster lasting peace in the region,” said Lankford.

This is the fourth peace agreement between Muslim-majority or Arab countries and Israel that the Trump Administration has helped broker.
