Stitt Requests Additional Federal Help for Winter Storm Recovery

Governor Kevin Stitt is now asking the White House to expand his request for a federal disaster declaration to include homeowners, renters, business owners and government entities impacted by the long winter storm.

It could mean FEMA Individual Assistance for those making claims. Property damage and other significant weather related impacts must be submitted online at damage.ok.gov. The more people who report, the more likely the request will be approved by the federal government.

“This request continues my effort to turn over every rock and do everything we can to help Oklahomans recover from this historic storm,” said Stitt. “I appreciate President Biden’s initial actions and urge him to act quickly to approve this request as well.”

Stitt’s earlier request for the emergency declaration was approved. It authorized direct federal assistance and reimbursement for the emergency measures taken by the state, local and tribal governments at 75 percent federal funding.
