Stitt Taking Time to Consider Attorney General Appointment

Former Attorney General Mike Hunter’s resignation has been in effect since June 1st. However, it appears Governor Kevin Stitt is taking his time to decide who will fill the unexpired term.

The Oklahoman’s Chris Casteel and Nolan Clay write Gentner Drummond has already announced plans to run for the office in 2022.

Casteel and Clay also speculate as to possible appointments. Anyone who Stitt picks could have an incumbent advantage should he or she decided to run for a full term next year.

Stitt has not set a public time table to announce his decision.
