Stitt Travels to Azerbaijan to Promote Partnerships with Oklahoma

Governor Kevin Stitt is spending the week in Azerbaijan to promote and expand strategic partnerships between the state of Oklahoma and Azerbaijan.

“I am honored to accept President Ilham Aliyev’s invitation to visit Azerbaijan and look forward to productive meetings with his administration on ways we can continue to work together,” said Stitt. “Oklahoma and Azerbaijan have a shared focus on energy, agriculture, and innovation, and I am excited to explore this country and meet the Azerbaijani people.”

The first relationship established between the country and our state was with the Oklahoma National Guard in 2002. Since then, agricultural opportunities have expanded.

Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur and Oklahoma National Guard Adjutant General Michael Thompson also made the trip. Secretary of Commerce and Economic Development Scott Mueller is expected to join the group from Oklahoma.
