Maynard Declares for House District 21 Seat

Cody Maynard is joining the race for the Republican nomination to the House District 21 seat. Maynard is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and business administrator for Hendrick Healthcare System.

“I am running to represent District 21 because my wife, Crystal, and I want to ensure that Oklahoma remains a beacon of freedom and a place to see dreams realized for generations to come. Serving as a legislator is an opportunity to ensure that Oklahoma is a state embodying pro-family policies, including but not limited to: protecting the pre-born, honoring the sanctity of life, advocating for parental and guardian rights, and promoting policies that reduce poverty and champion excellence in education,” said Maynard.

Maynard says that he would put his skills as an accountant to work in the legislature.

“As an experienced accountant and CPA, I will work to ensure oversight of Oklahoma taxpayer dollars both at the state and federal level. I believe we must always leave things better than we found them and be forward thinking for the fiscal health of the next generation’s prosperity while ensuring that the current generation’s pension system is fully funded to honor our retirement promises. With integrity, I will advocate for constitutional priorities and a balanced state budget that reduces state debt and grows our investments. Additionally, I will be intentional in supporting our region’s economic development by attracting emerging markets and innovative banking industries that support our strong manufacturing appeal and continue the growth of our Marshall and Bryan Counties’ Lake Texoma tourism footprint.”

The HD 21 seat is currently held by Representative Dustin Roberts who is term limited.

Maynard will face Erick Wyatt for the Republican nomination. The official filing period for the office is in April.
