OU Regent Search Underway

Governor Kevin Stitt announced Friday he has begun the process to find a new member of the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents after Regent Phil Albert’s resignation. Albert was originally appointed by Governor Mary Fallin in 2016 to a 7-year term.

“Phil Albert served the University of Oklahoma well during his time as a regent,” said Gov. Stitt. “I will be considering candidates to replace him who are committed to ensuring OU is a strategic partner as we strengthen Oklahoma’s workforce and produce graduates with skills and degrees that meet the needs of our state’s growing economy.”

Stitt’s choice will fill the unexpired term which lasts through March 21, 2023. Stitt’s pick will have to go through Senate confirmation.

This will be Stitt’s fifth appointment to the seven member OU Board of Regents.
