Just a day after Senator Zack Taylor announced he won’t run for re-election to the Senate District 28 seat, rancher and businessman Jeff McCommas has declared his candidacy.
“After prayer and consideration, I feel God has directed me to explore the challenge of running for State Senate. Honesty and integrity are the most important characteristics a man can have. Your word is your bond. These are the foundation of my personal and professional life. My goal in this office would be to take my life experiences and the knowledge I have obtained to bring back the strong family values that I am passionate about. I am convinced this is essential to a strong state,” said McCommas.
McCommas is looking to work on education, tax reform, and local agriculture issues.
McCommas owns McCommas Constructions and McCommas Ranch.
“Small family businesses are the lifeblood of our local economy; we need to make sure we revitalize main street. To do that, we need to have an educated workforce to allow for new business development,” said McCommas.
