Major Incentive Package Gets Tweaking as Major Company Considers Oklahoma

Legislators are tweaking the incentive package originally meant to attract a Panasonic battery manufacturing facility for another possible manufacturer.

Tulsa World’s Carmen Forman writes the Joint Committee on Appropriations and Budget approved lowering the jobs threshold from 4,000 to 3,500 must create within four years to access the LEAD Act incentives. The $698 million in incentive money would be returned to general revenue if the manufacturer doesn’t make a commitment by April 15.
