Federal Judge Hears Arguments over House Bill 1775

U.S. District Judge Charles Goodwin heard arguments this week over House Bill 1775, which restricts the teaching of race or gender. The Plaintiffs claims the law is too vague and is creating confusion in the classroom. The State of Oklahoma is defending the law saying it is meant to eliminate the teaching of racism or sexism in schools.

Tulsa World’s Melissa Jacques writes the ACLU of Oklahoma has been waiting two years for its case to be heard by the federal court.
