Hassink Steps into HD 79 Race for Republican Nomination

Engineer Paul Hassink has thrown in his lot into the House District 79 race. If he wants the seat, he will need to win the GOP nomination over fellow Republican Jenifer Stevens. The winner of that primary will face Democrat incumbent Representative Melissa Provenzano.

Hassink came out swinging in his campaign with an attack on how the education system is being handled.

“Today, there are education systems in our state that are some of the worst in the US. The actors behind the Tulsa Public School system failures have deprived generations of students of the capacity to effectively read, write and even count change. Teachers, parents and tax payers in House District 79 deserve a common sense voice in the legislature, as opposed to a single-issue politician who has consistently failed to produce real solutions to the failure of our education system over the last seven years. My business experience and common sense engineering approach make me uniquely qualified to be the Republican nominee this June,” said Hassink.

The Republican primary is June 18. The General Election is set for November 5.
