General Election Day 2024 is here.
Oklahoma polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Officials say if you are in line at 7:00 p.m., you will get the opportunity to vote.
Of course, the top of the ballot is the presidential election. While there are independent and Libertarian candidates, the race essentially is between Republican former President Donald Trump and Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris.
The only statewide office up for election in Oklahoma is for Corporation Commissioner. The winner will replace the longest-serving Corporation Commissioner Bob Anthony. Voters will choose between Libertarian Chad Williams, Republican Brian Bingman, and Democrat Harold Spradling.
The Legislature put two state questions on the ballot. Voters will decide on State Question 833 which would allow for the creation of public infrastructure districts. This would allow property owners to sell bonds to pay for improvements. The property owners within the district would pay back the bonds.
The other referendum is for State Question 834. That asks voters to more explicitly ban non-citizens from voting.
Four of the five Oklahoma Congressional Districts will be on the ballot. Congressional District 3 was decided when Congressman Frank Lucas won the Republican primary earlier this year.

The Oklahoma State Election Board notes that more than 141-thousand registered to vote since January 15, 2024. That brings the total number of eligible voters in Oklahoma to 2,442,211. Most of the increase was from people registering as Republican. Democrats, Independents, and Libertarians also saw varying levels of growth in registrations.
“I am encouraged by the latest numbers and the growth in registered voters we have seen over the past several years. Hopefully, they point to better overall turnout for the General Election,” said Paul Ziriax, Secretary of the State Election Board.
