Lawsuit Against Walters’ Bible Instruction in Schools Widens

The lawsuit against a move by Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters’ move to place Bibles in classrooms and the use of Biblical teachings for instructional materials has been joined by more plaintiffs.

Tulsa World’s Lenzy Krehbiel-Burton writes the group is challenging the legality of the State Department of Education’s request for proposal (RFP) asking for instructional materials using references to Biblical content. The materials are meant for elementary age students and emphasize the development of “core values.”
