During the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee hearing on Wednesday reviewing the U.S. Trade Agenda, Congressman Kevin Hern wanted to know what the Trump Administration was doing to prioritize allies with American values and interests in his trade policy. While President Donald Trump has continued to manipulate trade policy through levying various tariffs on allies and adversaries, some countries like Israel and Taiwan are seeking ways to negotiate new trade deals with the U.S.
United States Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer responded by saying high level talks are underway. He also noted that trade talks will prioritize American economic security.
