Hornback to Make Run for Corporation Commission in 2026

Justin Hornback is returning to the campaign arena for another run at Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner. The Broken Arrow Republican announced his candidacy on Thursday.

“The 2024 primary results underscored a growing sentiment among Oklahoma voters: they are seeking more than just candidates with name recognition from years in politics. Oklahomans want a Corporation Commissioner who will prioritize hard work, dedication, and a genuine commitment to serving Oklahoma, rather than simply continuing a political career,” said Hornback.

Hornback’s campaign will focus on transparency, communication, and industry experience.

“The Oklahoma Corporation Commission plays a vital role in our state, and it’s crucial that it operates with openness and accountability,” said Hornback. “I believe my experience in the energy sector, combined with a dedication to clear communication, will allow me to effectively serve the interests of both consumers and industry.”

Hornback has experience in several aspects of the energy sector. He believes that experience would help guide him in office.

“I am running for Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner because I believe I can bring a fresh perspective and a strong work ethic to this important office,” Hornback stated. “I am dedicated to serving the people of Oklahoma, ensuring that our energy resources are developed responsibly, our utilities remain reliable and affordable.”

Hornback is the first candidate to declare for the Corporation Commission in 2026. The seat that is coming up for election next year is currently held by Commissioner Todd Heitt.
