Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Kim David announced she is running for Oklahoma’s First Congressional District, pledging to support President Donald Trump’s agenda and deliver what she described as America First results.
David, a former Oklahoma Senate Majority Leader, enters the race highlighting her conservative legislative record and experience in statewide office.
“I’ve spent my career delivering results,” David said. “In Congress, I will stand with President Trump to secure the border, protect American energy, defend our freedoms, and lower the cost of living for Oklahoma families.”
During her time in the Oklahoma Senate, David authored the state’s constitutional carry law and supported measures focused on election integrity, including voter identification and ballot security requirements. She also voiced support for federal proposals requiring proof of citizenship in elections.
David currently serves on the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, where she has focused on energy policy and utility regulation. Her campaign emphasized efforts to protect ratepayers and maintain reliable, affordable energy across the state.
Her campaign platform includes securing the southern border, expanding domestic energy production, reducing federal spending to address cost-of-living concerns, supporting the military, and defending Second Amendment rights.
David also pointed to her record of support for small businesses, noting a lifetime 100 percent rating from the National Federation of Independent Business.
The First Congressional District seat became open when Congressman Kevin Hern announced his intention to run for U.S. Senate. That seat will be open if U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin is confirmed as the next Secretary of Homeland Security.
