Oklahoma collected $1.3 billion in tax revenue during May, a 2.7% increase compared to the same month last year, according to the latest State Tax Revenue Report released by Oklahoma Treasurer Todd Russ.
The report shows Oklahoma’s rolling 12-month revenue total reached $17.83 billion, up $951 million, or 5.6%, from the previous year. May marked the ninth consecutive month of positive annual revenue growth.
“May’s report reflects continued stability in Oklahoma’s revenues, supported by strong gross production tax collections and steady consumer activity,” Russ said.
Gross production tax collections totaled $109.9 million in May, an increase of 22.3% from a year earlier. Sales and use tax collections reached $599.5 million, up 4.6% year-over-year.
Income tax collections totaled $407.1 million, down 0.9% from May 2025. Motor vehicle tax collections were $127.4 million, a decrease of 2.9%, while other tax sources generated $73.6 million, down 5.4%.
Russ said the state’s long-term revenue outlook remains stable despite ongoing inflation pressures and broader economic uncertainty.
