Republican gubernatorial candidate Gentner Drummond has unveiled an economic growth plan that focuses on tax relief, workforce development, government accountability and support for Oklahoma businesses.
Drummond said the proposal is aimed at creating jobs, expanding economic opportunities and strengthening rural communities across the state.
“Our economy should reward hard work, create opportunities, and give every Oklahoma family a chance to succeed,” Drummond said. “As governor, I will put Oklahoma first by creating an environment where businesses can grow, workers can thrive, and rural communities can prosper.”
The plan calls for responsibly lowering taxes, reducing regulations, streamlining state government and increasing agency accountability. It also proposes expanding partnerships with tribal nations, increasing CareerTech capacity, improving coordination between education and workforce training, and reducing permitting times for businesses.
Other proposals include creating an Oklahoma First Fund to support Oklahoma-owned businesses, investing in rural housing, childcare, broadband and infrastructure, and expanding government transparency through performance audits and increased public reporting.
“We don’t need a bigger government. We need a better government,” Drummond said. “That means holding agencies accountable, investing in our workforce, and making sure Oklahoma is the best place in America to live, work, and raise a family.”
